Onigiri at Niko-Niko Onigiri.

I've been visiting its franchise in Setapak for several times after my first! It's affordable and food comes in reasonable portion. Additionally, things tasted so healthy!

Although you should really choose carefully the flavour of your onigiri, else you might end up with a tasteless rice ball. If you're confused, just ask for recommendations.

2 Onigiri Set (below, RM 8.90) and a 3 In 1 (above, RM 9.90). Both sets come with a bowl of miso soup and two side dishes.

You get to choose preferred flavours for both sets (2 for the onigiri and 3 for the 3-in-1). My personal choices would always be katsuobushi and tobikko, and I loved their potato mayo though it's unlike any potato salad sold in other Japanese restaurants.

Service is A-OK. Although it's specified as self service, servers will carry your orders to you, you just have to place your orders and pay first at the counter.

Piccadilly Restaurant.

It's located at Millenium Square, nearby Asia Jaya LRT station with a great night view. Anyway, with their enormous menu choices we had difficulty ordering our dinner.

We ended up with two similar dishes, BBQ Chicken Chop (top, RM 10.80) and Grilled Chicken Breast (down, RM 11.90).

The mushroom sauce for my grilled chicken was really salty, that's quite a let down.

3 Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf.

I've been scratching my head over a strange tutorial question so instead of going on staring at how the solution turned out that way, I've decided to post up what we had last month at the Three Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf at Bangsar Village.

Half the restaurant was occupied by working adults, the rest by families and groups of friends, though we didn't have to shout to make our scarce conversations audible to each other, words exchanged at the next table were clear.

As the name suggests ... We had to try pork. Guess none of us was in the mood for pastas so both of us had burgers.

That's my Hawaiian Burger (RM 26) and his Big Bad Burger (RM 28). Mine came with a ring of pineapple and onion rings.

They were both too large for our mouths to bite into, though. The patties didn't turn out juicy enough, but the salads were amazing. At least for the value, it's pretty worth it.

Revisiting Solaris Dutamas.

To celebrate the end of our finals and to fulfill the long promised outing, Fion brought us to Solaris Dutamas, woo hoo!

Who also introduced us to the Red Beanbag at block A4, now decorated with a jolly Christmas ambiance!

Bean sacks on the wall!

Here goes my Skyscraper (RM17) - layers of pancake drizzled with chocolate syrup, garnished with berries and banana chunks!

Fion's Fowl Luck (RM25.90) - "roasted chicken thigh with herb potatoes, mushrooms, olives and mushroom gravy." Meat was tender and rich in flavour!

Jason's The Leeky Duck (RM28.90) - spaghetti sitting in a broth of leek and duck, yum!

Aaron's Traditional Beef Burger (RM22). Loving the sunny side up that wowed us right away. We starved for hours by the way.

Aaron and Fion, in love with their meals. Unhappy Jason ha ha.

We went for another food hunt at Publika and ended up at Ben's General Food Store ordering off the counter.

Scrumptious chocolate cakes! That's Black Forest (RM11.90) upfront and Caramel Chocolate Banana (RM10.90) at the back. The caramel was too much for me but Fion thought it was perfect, I loved the Black Forest though.

Then we lingered at Ben's and stopped at the beers section because Fion was distracted from her milk hunt. As a result we all got ourselves a bottle. Jason cut himself while opening the bottles for us ... Sorry Jason!

A perfect ending to end these stressed weeks!

Superwoman Fion and cheeky Jason.

Kaw Kaw Street Burger!

These two fella came down from the other side of PJ to Wangsa Maju, with the intention to try out the infamous burger bakar (grilled burger) reported on Star news.

As far as we know, the beef patties were heavenly and HOMEMADE! :D

AWE-SOME.

We reached there a little after 7 to know that orders will only be taken starting from 7.40 pm. They were already down to work at the stall, and the queue?

So when we were awaiting, I was switching between their phones scrambling letters all over. XD

That's Jessie looking and me playing!

As they took orders at the exact timing, the queue moved; we advanced almost every 10 minutes, until further up, we got our own seats while those who were taking away had to wait in front of the stall.

BUT even the wait by the table was tormenting. x_x

Lol boredddd!

And only around a quarter after nine, about two hours after our arrival, we have finally gotten our orders.

This was Jessie's. She ordered a single patty Cheezy (with cheese sauce, that is) burger set (came with two sausages and one drink) for RM12.50! :D

Just witness the size of that beef patty already ...!

This was the double patty Cheezy burger. :D For RM16.50.

Our appetites weren't prepared for the burger towers, yet. You shall see! :)

Curry Mee with Boiled Fish.

Boiled, not steamed.

I hesitated when I get to the title. The fish is the general enticement here, it totally dominates the enjoyment of a meal here at Kedai Kopi Tin Kam Leng, so instinctively I typed "Boiled Fish with ..." before I rephrased it to this, since carbs constitute our mains here in Malaysia.

What's proclaimed: no preservatives and sodium borate used in production of noodles by distributor.

I am NOT a big fish person, but when it comes to steamed fresh fish that's served fresh from the pot, especially a nice serving of kembung (mackerel) oh yes I will NOT reject! However due to the unpredictable weather (or monsoon season, but was it still?) kembung was not widely available. The cooks then used selar (yellowtail scad, an equally mouth-watering fish) for the side dish.

It's a heavenly combination to have the fish along with a bowl of their famous Curry Mee. I'm dead serious about this.

You can also opt for mihun (vermicelli) instead of noodles. The same soup was used to boiled the fishes, which explained the great aroma possessed by the soup. This bowl of curry is not the average curry you can enjoy elsewhere, no santan was added and there was only a tinge of spiciness, very un-curry-like. But YUM! It's almost like Har Mee soup but instead of cooking with prawn shells, fish was used.

Price list. Price of fish varies.

This coffee shop is perhaps the most visited place we've been to whenever we passed by or went to Kemaman. I am not very sure about its exact location, all I knew was it's located opposite to the Persatuan Hokkien which isn't facing the main street, beside it but separated by a narrow road is a small hawker center consists of mainly Malay stalls. The locals would call the place as Kampung Cina but Google Maps will direct Kampung Cina in Kemaman to a place further away from the town.

I have also found the address set by other online users on foursquare which goes here.

Georgetown Food Hunt II.

We were literally knocked out on the previous night, so we gave ourselves more slumber time!

As to where we stayed, a friend of my aunt helped looked for this sweet, cosy little homestay at Gerbang Midlands, footsteps away from Berjaya Penang Hotel and very reasonably priced. The only downside was we had three rooms but only one bath to share!

As we prepared to leave, we were just in time for brunch. Our destination? Lebuh Cecil.

Accidental shot taken on the car.

It was a sunny Sunday and some lanes were closed on this 'No Vehicle Day'.

Old buildings with different hues.

The Lebuh Cecil Hawker Center!

The Otak-otak priced at RM2.20 was heavily infused with santan and mint leaves, unlike what we saw in southern Malaysia; even the wrapping wasn't similar.

Get some Penang's signature dish - Har Mee at RM2.60.

Curry Mee at RM2.60!

Javanese Mee at RM3.00.

Looking scrumptious! I loved a nice scoop of ice cream on my Ais Kacang.

And we made our way back to the Peninsular via the new Penang bridge with many more vehicles. The traffic was smooth though.
